Introduction of different types of 3D print

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM): Also known as Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF), this is the most widely used type of 3D printing at the consumer level. It works by melting and extruding thermoplastic filament layer by layer to create an object.Pic 1: my own FDM printer with AMS on its right.

Stereolithography (SLA): This technology uses a laser to cure liquid resin into hardened plastic. It is known for producing high-resolution and detailed prints.

Digital Light Processing (DLP): Similar to SLA, DLP uses a digital light projector to cure liquid resin. It can produce high-quality prints with fine details.

Liquid Crystal Display (LCD): This method also uses light to cure resin, but it employs an LCD screen to mask the light source, allowing for precise control over the curing process.

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS): This technology uses a laser to sinter powdered material, typically nylon or other thermoplastics, layer by layer to create a solid object. SLS is known for producing strong, durable parts with complex geometries and is increasingly becoming accessible to consumers.

To us as luremakers, the most accessible types are FDM(filament printer) and LCD(resin printer) and therefore the following posts will mainly focus on these two methods.
