Cast Assist (Weight Shifting on Y-Axis)

In modern lure design, cast assist is a common feature among factory-made lures. However, it is challenging to implement in handcrafted wooden lures. With 3D printing, lure makers can consider incorporating this feature to enhance casting distance. One design involves a canal with a slot to hold the ball bearing for re-balancing, while another design uses a magnet to hold the bearings instead of a slot. Both designs are feasible, with the second design saving space but requiring more precise tuning.
Rattles

Rattles are typically found in vibers due to their high-frequency vibration during retrieval. Interestingly, sound travels approximately five times faster in water than in air with minimal loss. It is important to note that rattles can cause constant weight shifting, and excessive use may lead to rolling and deviation from the intended course. Rattles can consist of a single ball bearing or multiple smaller ball bearings, with no fundamental differences other than the additional weight. Avoid overlapping the rattle with the centre of mass.
Propeller
A propeller is an effective topwater lure feature that creates continuous ripples. However, adding propeller blades to any floating lure will transform it into a Plopper. Streamlined designs become irrelevant with propeller blades, as they stabilise all wiggles and swings.
